DESCRIPTION:Dive into the vision of today’s leaders\n\n\nThe Mei Lin Fung Conversation\n\n\nChair since 2020 of the People Centered Internet which she co-founded with Vint Cerf in 2015\, she stands for building resilient communities applying digital finance\, harnessing data so that communities connect in networks\,  so all community members can thrive. \nShe gave the closing keynote at the World Bank/IFC Global SME Financing forum 2020: The Decade of Transformation. \nAs Socio-Technical lead\, in a multi-year project funded by the US Department of Defense\, she engaged with the senior leaders across the US Federal system and private sector to develop a vision for the future of health in the US and globally. \nAs “god-mother” of CRM\, Customer Relationship Management she had the opportunity to see how technology innovation began commercially 1989 then became shaped by many forces over the past 3 decades. \nShe chaired the Bootstrap Core Planning Committee at the invitation of Douglas Engelbart\, the inventor of the Computer Mouse\, who at SRI led the ARC Lab team that was the second node of the Internet. Realizing trends in tech were leading to increasing harms\, her training by Engelbart in network improvement communities\, led to the founding of the People Centered Internet with Vint Cerf and the building of deep and broad relationships with the leadership of IEEE\, members of the World Economic Forum\, the World Bank\, UN\, leaders in Microsoft\, SalesForce\, Google\, Amazon\, MasterCard\, SAP and others.   \nShe serves on the advisory council of Govstack\, a UN initiative to develop common technology building blocks for government services\, also for VentureRock. DESCRIPTION:Theme\n\n(EMERGING AND CROSS-CUTTING) Inclusive IG ecosystems and digital cooperation \n\n\n\nRound Table – U-shape – 60 Min \nAdd this session to your schedule by clicking here. \n\n\nDescription\n\n  \nWe will discuss how the young and the Youth IGF Leaders can influence choice of internet policies.  \nThe main idea of the present proposal for an Open Forum is to share with the IGF multi-stakeholder community the outcomes of the Youth IGF Movement activities on digital cooperation that took place around the world in 2020\, know as the Youth IGF Battles 2020 to support the UN roadmap on Digital cooperation. \nThe format of the Open Forum is intended to be a debate between the Youth IGF Movement leaders and the leaders of the Information Society\, namely the members of the EU Delegation to the IGF (Members of the European Parliament and the European Commission)\, communities working on Digital cooperation\, as well as the representatives of the Asia-Pacific community\, African countries and Latin America. \nWe would like also to invite the leaders of the private sector. The Open Forum welcomes the representatives of other youth initiatives to engage in an inclusive dialogue with the leaders of the IGF community\, namely the ISOC YIGF program\, the ICANN Next-Gen and the nationals Youth IGFs. \nThis year it is proposed to focus the discussion between leaders and youth representatives on the engagement of Youth IGF community on the subject of digital cooperation and their role to play. \nThe session is foreseen as an open dialogue.
