Community Networks – How 43 Countries are Setting Them Up

At the Internet Governance Forum in Paris last year in November, the GISWatch report was launched for 2018.

The 43 country reports describe the different experiences and approaches in setting up community networks.  Key ideas, such as participatory governance systems, community ownership and skills transfer, and most importantly a “Can Do” or “Do-it-Yourself” spirit can be detected behind the most sustained and successful ways communities use networks to improve local well being, and expand social and economic opportunity. PCI salutes the community networks of the world.
